The City of Fort Collins is the Home Rule Municipality that is the county seat and the most populous municipality of Larimer County, Colorado, United States. Situated on the Cache La Poudre River along the Colorado Front Range, Fort Collins is located 65 miles (105 km) north of the Colorado State Capitol in Denver. With a 2014 estimated population of 156,480, it is the fourth most populous city in Colorado after Denver, Colorado Springs, and Aurora. Additionally, Fort Collins was named the No. 1 safest city of drivers by Allstate, in 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2014, in the insurance providers annual "America's Best Drivers Report." Fort Collins made the No. 2 spot in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009, and the No. 3 spot in 2012.
