2016 US elections

Editor's note: To win the presidential election, a candidate needs at least 270 electoral votes. According to NPR's final battleground map, former toss-up states Arizona, Iowa, Ohio and Georgia are now leaning Republican, while Nevada now leans Democrat and New Hampshire is now a toss-up. NPR says if GOP nominee Donald Trump picks up Florida, Ohio, Iowa, North Carolina and New Hampshire, he would still need to take a Democratic-leaning state. It appears his campaign is aware, as his final campaign push was focused on Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Virginia and even Minnesota. Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton is looking to hold on to blue states and was campaigning in Michigan and Pennsylvania, where polls have tightened. She’s also been in Ohio, despite the state leaning Republican. The first polls begin closing at 7 p.m. ET. Follow “2016 US elections” in the app to get all the latest news. - Rebecca
