A fire in Larimer County, Colorado, which started on June 9, 2012, went from 50 acres to 200 in 30 minutes. The fire grew to 87,284 acres, destroying 259 homes and killing one, before being fully contained on June 30, 2012.
Following the fire, rain has caused flooding and mudslides over burn areas left barren, according to the National Weather Service. Some residents affected by the High Park fire are on notice to be ready to evacuate due to flash floods.
